Demo House all set for Great Summer of Sport

The demo room now has basic functionality including picture on screen and movie server working; all this just in time for the fantastic summer of sport ahead of us. With the UEFA Euro 2012 European Football now underway we can sit back and watch England’s efforts with unrivalled audio and picture quality. Shame we can’t guarantee that England will perform as well as an AV Candy system! Still, we keep our fingers crossed for the boys but even if they don’t manage to succeed at least we have the tennis at Queens and Wimbledon to look forward to and who can forgot the upcoming 2012 Olympics in London?

Interesting this will be the first Olympics to be shown in 3D. We are still reserving judgement on 3D technology, as we think it may be just a passing phase, especially if there’s no improvement on its current form with those annoying glasses! We will be watching with interest and listening for feedback on whether the 3D element has enhanced the Olympic experience for our customers. Something you may not be aware of is that the BBC working with NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) and Olympic Broadcast Services (OBS) and will capture and show the London 2012 Olympic Games in Super Hi-Vision! Unfortunately no displays exist in the domestic market as the technology is still at prototype stage, but if you think HDTV (1920 x 1080 pixels) is sharp wait till the next generation of Super Hi Vision 8k resolution screens becomes standard at 7680 x 4320 pixels!! Realistically it could be 5-10 years before we see this technology available to everyone-but as always AV Candy will remain one step ahead and will keep you updated as this new technology develops....... one thing we hope is that they change the name from Super Hi Vision and come up with something a little less cheesy!!!
